School Achiever Awards 2009
Outstanding children from 12 primary schools in the local area have been recognised by Keighley Town Council. They were honoured in this year's council School Achiever Awards. The 13 children were each given an engraved shield and a book token by the Town Mayor, Councillor Margaret Ward. Each school also received an engraved shield. The awards were given out in the Council Chamber where the children were accompanied by parents and teachers. Refreshments were provided and Councillor Ward also gave a brief tour of the chamber. All the children were picked by their schools and were chosen for their good behaviour, high levels of academic achievement, positive attitude and willingness to support fellow pupils. The children formally recognised and shown in the picture below with the Town Mayor are:-
Callum Wear, Christopher Harris, Adnam Saddique, Gabriella Humphreys, Jack Lewis, Joshua Kelly,Sanya Hussain, Sonya Hussain, Andrew Scott, Molly Robinson, Peter Walker, Emily Shepherd and Danielle Pullen.
